Overview

Logic Architect provides the Microsoft® Excel® user with a database integrated into the worksheet environment, worksheet-based tools (logic sheets) for processing data, and a report generator.

Worksheets can contain tables (with their own scroll bar) or be used as forms to browse or update the database. Lists can be generated for in-cell dropdowns, windows managed, and buttons or menus can be used as controls. (Place your mouse over one of the above headings.)
Reports are workbooks generated from your data which provide the end user with considerable flexibility in how the data is viewed. They can be distributed to users who do not have Logic Architect and retain their functionality.
Logic sheets are special worksheets which can handle complex logic, calculation, data navigation or report generation using only the tabular structure of the worksheet, and without the need for macro programming.
The database can store data separately from your workbooks, so it can be shared between workbooks and (with the multiple user version) between users; it can manage complex data structures and protect the security and integrity of the data.

These user interface elements which traditionally require a forms-based development environment can be easily managed using only worksheets.

Reports are a simple and flexible way of displaying and distributing a wide variety of system outputs.

These allow complex systems to be built quickly from simple components. There are tools (step, trace and flowchart) to assist with development.

All the advantages of a relational database are available entirely within the worksheet environment.

Worksheets can be used to provide a simple environment to maintain data and select options.

Reports provide a simple way to present results to users or clients; they can also be distributed by email.

Models with multi-stage calculations can easily be applied to multiple sets of data.

Multiple sets of data and results can easily be stored for comparison purposes.

Worksheets can be set up to provide a controlled and secure environment for the input of data.

Accounting reports (such as trial balances, VAT analyses, bank reconciliations) can be generated easily.

Logic sheets can be used for the processing of accounting data (e.g. generate balancing postings from transaction data).

Data can be stored securely, and the quality of the data can be protected.

Worksheets can be used for simple yet secure input of data.

Multiple sets of results can be presented simply on reports.

Complex calculations can be applied to multiple data sets. Virtual arrays simplify the application of statistical and engineering functions.

Multiple sets of data and results can easily be stored for comparison purposes.
