Why did you design Logic Architect the way you did?

Does Logic Architect run on Windows 2000 or Windows NT?
We have not tested on either of these operating systems, though we know of no reason why the system would not work. We would be happy to hear from anyone who has tried it.
Does Logic Architect run on Windows Vista?
Yes - Version 3.02a runs on Vista. If you have downloaded from this site, you will have the correct version. If from elsewhere, please ensure that the downloaded file is named LAsxSetup.exe, and if not download again from here.
Can I easily remove Logic Architect after installation?
You can remove Logic Architect temporarily from Excel through the Excel Add-in Manager (Tools Add-ins, or on Excel Options in Excel 2007) by removing the tick from it in the list of add-ins. You can remove it permanently through Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel. The help system has more information on this.
Can I transfer my Single User Licence to another computer?
Currently, we allow the transfer of the licence to another computer. Please install the system on your new computer (where you will automatically get a 30-day trial period) and press Tools Help Version Information on the Logic Architect command bar or ribbon tab. Note carefully your new hardware code, then contact us by email stating that you are no longer using the product on your old computer, and specify both your old product key and your new hardware code. We will send you a new product key.
I am having problems running Logic Architect from an account which does not have administrative priveleges
Logic Architect requires full update priveleges to the files in its database, and a non-administrative account is restricted here. If the database is exclusively for use in this one account, then it can be stored in this account's My Documents folder. If it is to be shared (or to use the databases supplied with the system), change the folder in which the databases are stored (typically the C:\Logic Architect folder) to allow shared update.
How does Logic Architect handle macro security?
Macros (VBA) are the programming method used within Office, and are central to the design of Logic Architect.
Because of the possibility of a macro containing a virus, Microsoft introduced macro security options into Office from Office 97 onwards. These simply have the effect of disabling some or all macros unless the macro security is set to Low.
Most anti-virus products provide protection against viruses in macros, so that even with security set to Low all workbooks are checked for viruses every time they are loaded. You can tell this is happening because the status bar shows a message such as Requesting virus scan... whenever a workbook or add-in is opened.
Because Logic Architect uses Excel macros, macro security must be set to Low in Excel 2000 - Excel 2003. In Excel 2007 the Trusted Locations feature can be used in conjunction with a higher security setting.
We do not currently supply a digitally signed version of Logic Architect. Although this could have allowed a higher level of macro security to be set, there are problems with its use in Excel 2000, and the Trusted Locations feature provides a good alternative in Excel 2007.
